Outdoor Wednesday.

I see this red roofed barn every time I go out my road to town.
It is in the distance but was able to get a pretty good close up shot.
I have driven around trying to find a road to this place but it evades me.
I like the red surprise I get when I drive this way.

Boy Scouts setting up for a camp out week-end on the Nazareth Campus where I volunteer on Fridays.

It was great to watch the activities of the scouts all over the campus.
They were here from all over the nation.

Yes, I am a little envious, I just can't hike like that. LOL

Outdoor Wednesday- A place to enjoy nature.

Things are getting lush around here now.

Continuing my Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest trip in Ky.

I looked this up  on the Bernheim website and it is called a bottle-brush bush.
They are everywhere at Bernheim.

This was one of the exhibits during the identifying the trees at risk in Ky. projects.

Want to give your youth a wonderful experience in nature I would recommend this to any one.
Accommodations, weekly programs and seasonal activities constantly for children and adults.
Beautiful restaurant using edible flowers and plants grown here.

(Not an ad. My own recommendation)

Outdoor Wednesday.-in the country

Although these shrubs need trimming, I just love the colors in them.
This was after a rain the night before.

I like the colors of the petunias, coreopsis and barberry on the corner of the front porch.
The colors all blend in so well.

At our son's for Father's Day.
I knew that Honeymoon had just had a colt and John had said he was going to sell Honeymoon.

I went looking for the new colt but there was none.

Seems our son could not sell Honeymoon, he thought too much of her.
So he sold the colt instead of her.
She is a beauty.

Tomatoes doing great.
Keeping them off the dirt or the ground is the secret and away from critters.

Out and about my neck of the woods on Wednesday.

Sitting on my deck with a glass of white wine minding my own business today.

Labyrinth on Nazareth campus in town.
Many retreats are held here.
Business, spiritual, schools, service clubs, anyone is welcome to use the beautiful resources here.

Miles of farm land on my way to work.

Finally seeing the hummers.

Coreopsis just outside my front door.

Outdoors Wednesday. Severe Storms and some flowers.

My town in one of the many storms last week.

Eerie driving weather.

Finally home

It has rained every day for 6 or 7 days.
Unseasonably cool.
Worried about our flowers and tomato plants.

Leaving you with a brighter  note from our neighborhood.

Fire pit and around our outdoors.

A glass of wine by the fire pit.

Greatgrandson on toy tractor.

Historic Old StoneHouse in my neighborhood where Jessie and Frank James mother lived with her third
 husband  Rueben Samuel.

The little community of Samuels Kentucky was named for him.

It is said that there are tunnels under this house where the outlaws hid during a spree of robberies through Kentucky.

This property is not far from where I live.

Out and about on Outdoor Wednesday.

Hey it's hump day.
Out and about just shooting the view.
Many weird stories told about
The Donkey Tree
Boys like to take their dates here, tell them weird stories to scare them, hoping for a little snuggle from the date. Ha Ha
Been around for a long, long time.

Beautiful weather in Central Ky, just a little windy however.
