March 9th- Think about things that are worthy of your praise, and then praise them.
Let heaven fill your thoughts. Do not think only about things down here on earth.

Cottage Days.
A Personal Photo Challenge
I am always looking for blog parties that can help me hone my skills in photography.
This month theme is
Black/White
This small bridge was built in the back of one of my neighbors yards and leads to a little grove of trees that their children like to play where they call their secret place.
The original photo does not give the same feeling of a hide-away as the b/w does.

Well, I am a lover of bridges and roads and things that lead somewhere so the subject matter is special. The conversion to B&W completes it for me. Well done!
You're right. The black and white has a more mysterious feel to it.
That's a great example of how B&W can help to redefine and focus on the subject! The lines and texture of the bridge take command instead of the greenery! Thanks for participating, Peggy, and I'm glad you found the blog!
Such a beautiful spot and captured wonderfully.
The bridge is just beautiful either way. But you really do see a lot of detail with the B & W effect! Enjoy your weekend!
I agree the black and white does portray the feeling much better. Nice shot
Hi Peggy
This has been a real learning curve to see if photos look better in colour or B&W. I like your bridge better in B&W, the focus is totally on it and the idea that it leads to a secret place makes it a special one.
Judith
Oh yes, the B&W strengthens the fact that the bridge is calling us to cross it.
I couldn't e-mail back a response to your post on my primary blog, so thought I'd pop in here and give you the answer. There is a list of upcoming challenge topics listed over on the sidebar of the challenge blog. I will be updating it monthly.
