Just found a new meme I think I will like
Grandparents Say it Saturday at
Familyhomeandlife.
GD Ellen went to Washington D.C. on a class trip and bought this very nice pretty hoodie.
One wash and it was too tight.
Mom asked if I could do something with it so that she could keep it as a reminder of that fun time.
I took the patterned fabric out of the hoodie cut off the sleeves, sewed up all the openings and stitched the one arm with Washington D.C. into one sleeve hole and tucked it into the hand warmer opening.
The white button on the top has a brass button with a star on it denoting the capitol.
Wala a pillow for the window seat in her room.

Since I have been making all of my Christmas gifts for several years, I asked other moms for favorite shirts no longer worn and did several of these pillows for the grands.
This was for a highschool football player whose favorite team is
the NY Giants.
Forgot to take photos of the others.
They were a big hit.

Grandmother to the rescue! How nice that you could "fix" things.

Neat idea and that really is a very pretty sweatshirt.
What a great way to recycle a keepsake! Just stopping by from the Say it Saturday Linky Party and it would be great if you would do the same! http://amaraland.com/memories/2011/little-things-are-huge/
fun to see!
What a GRAND idea! Congrats for saving the day! :) Have a lovely week.
