One of the horses made it to the Derby and was very close to winning when he pulled up. He retired to the farm, never raced again, but he nearly brought the Derby home. The ranch is now all vineyards. I preferred seeing the horses and not the dreadful grapes.Tattered and Losthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00208918251232477186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2811816265352920171.post-25746248831111637112012-05-06T07:39:25.608-04:002012-05-06T07:39:25.608-04:00We tend not to hear much about the Kentucky Derby ...We tend not to hear much about the Kentucky Derby unless an English horse is running and one that is thought will do well. I started planning a trip to Kentucky for the Derby but life got in the way and plans fell through. It must be pretty exciting. I am going to see a play about horse racing when I visit UK in a couple of weeks. It’s called ‘Epsom Downs and it’s all about Derby Day 1977, the Queen’s Silver Jubilee year. I shall report back. (I don’t suppose it will be as exciting as the real thing).Little Nellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11862657943846727987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2811816265352920171.post-18197408589267144692012-05-05T11:47:32.101-04:002012-05-05T11:47:32.101-04:00Wow, this is wonderful!
