Christmas with our loved ones.

What Grand Socials have been going on around the world.
Pray they are all blessed in some way.
Can't help but pray for friends and foes everywhere who must deal with terror.

Our Open House plan went very well.
Family members who don't see each other often got in contact with each other and planned to be here at a set time.

It had it's advantages in that we did not set a certain time for a meal, just had food all day, so folks did not have to stress to be here at a certain time and we were not left wondering, or waiting for what time folks would arrive.

The food I served was easy to keep refreshed as I had made several dishes and just replaced as needed.
It did take a lot of refrigerator space but that problem soon went away.

I know Papaw and I were a lot less stressed and that is a big thing at this time in our lives.

Our son John and wife Wendy and my only brother Joe.

Our son and his wife are the life of the party and
get a big kick out of gifts that may include an inside joke between themselves and my brother and his wife.

My brother Joe is diabetic and is allowed pizza one time a week.

This shirt conveys
"I'm just here for the pizza!"
Love it

SIL, Linda, always has a bag full of things for tailgating at U of K games, so they got her one for
just her ID, phone, and ticket for the game.
She would not let it out of her sight.
We all loved it.

I can guarantee this conversation was about
U of K and U of L, football.
Daughters Julia and Beth and grandson
Ben.

This one too.

Hubby Tom, grandson Ben and Beth's SO,

We all enjoyed Ham and Swiss cheese baked sandwiches, Shrimp cocktail, Country Ham and biscuits, chips, pickles, olives, veggies and dip, homemade candies, Pumpkin pie and Key Line pie.

Love this family picture put on canvas.

Loved my plaid pjs with feminine trim around the collar.

Red birds and chickadees and Christmas symbols.

On our door step.

Looks like the wind and rain picked up some of the flowers. Probably in our neighbor's yard.

Our neighbors yard at first light.

Love the red birds and the chickadees outside our
kitchen window.

My favorites of all Christmas gifts.

One of my daughters gave me a huge roll of Christmas wrapping paper for my birthday in November.

It has oodles of family pictures on it and I not want to send it away.

I took this painting I had done several years ago and
covered with a section of the wrapping paper.

The pattern is repeated x4 so I have 3 more sections.

One of the 4 sections fit this 16x 20 perfectly.

I gift wrapped it and applied a bow and it looks like a wrapped gift.

It is now hanging over my bed and gives my bedroom just enough touch of Christmas.

After all these are the loves of my life.

Christmas lasts as long as it takes to see all loved ones.

So far our plan for an Open House on
Christmas day is having it's advantages.

As I have said our family is getting bigger and grands are getting married and so on and they are having more responsibilities and more family members to visit.

One granddaughter cannot be with us Christmas day so in a wonderful surprise visit, look who showed up Sunday.

ggson loves baskets and boxes with tops on them.
On and off is his favorite pastime.
I love the shot as the sun shines through the window he appears to have a halo around him.

Dear granddaughter Cindy and son-in-love
Jeremy.

I can remember when we began our family and then as we all grew older, grands married and our extended family became very extended.
So have to go out of town to see all family members.

Playing hide and seek with papaw.

Could eat those little cheeks up.

Since we asked for RSVPs our families are making plans to visit at different times this week.
Have 2 fridges filled with food.

Our daughter and her family are coming tomorrow since they take turns going out of town every other years for Christmas day.

Can't believe our babies are all grown up.

Suzy Mae at
A soulful life
has such a great idea to take some time on
Friday
and reflect on a soulful moment in your week.

In decorating our home for Christmas I spotted
these little angels at the head of the stairway where they have been since last Christmas.
They are situated in front of a quilt stand with no quilts on them.

I had about three at one time.
Someone is always needing a blanket so away they go.
What came to my mind is how I love the sight of those tiny angels on the hallway of the upstairs bedrooms.
Like they are watching over whoever is sleeping there.

We had a picture of our Guardian Angel in our rooms and had the same one for our children.

I love this little picture.
