9 to 5 in my town

So glad to be back for FSO.

Today's theme
9 to 5 in my town.

Very active small town I live in.

Principal of Bethlehem High School doing his favorite job.
Handing out diplomas.
Education is a biggie in our town.
There are 4 high schools in the city limits and numerous schools in our county.
The professionals in these schools work all year.

One of the biggest employers in our town is the tourist industry.

Hostess at the Nazareth Campus Visitor's Center.
It is part of the Historic District Tour.

Around the Town Carriage  makes regular trips to the many Hotels and Motels in town for a tour of the Bourbon Heritage Trail and all the other activities happening in our town.

Jonsie's entire family get in on the fun.
His daughters dress in Western attire, Disney attire or whatever the occasion calls for.

Dressing in White Fur and Red during the winter season they run all year long.

As part of the tourism industry, I have no idea how many fine restaurants are in our town, food industry is a big employer.

This is the summer scene at Circa, right in the town square.
All the fine restaurants have professional chefs.

Art is a biggie in our town also.

From Henna artists to tattoos.

One of the artists displaying her craft and her products at
FABS.
Fine Arts of Bardstown

Daphne and
her clay jewelry.
The art gallery is right in the center of town and
contributes much to the festive look of the square with outside decorations all year long.

With 5 distilleries within 20 miles of our town
The Bourbon industry is next after tourism in importance to our economy.

Home Construction is on the rise again and you can find this scene everywhere.

Because of the tourism industry in our town street repair is a biggie for the city workers.
Things must always look good.

Cleaning up after a big fire in the middle of town.
Utilizes many city and police shifts who sometimes work around the clock.

Farming is also a big industry in our town.
These families don't just work 9 to 5, as anyone knows about farming.

Sorry such a long post but I am happy to be back.

Giving thanks on my day before Thanksgiving birthday

As I celebrate 76 years of life on the day before Thanksgiving, I am so grateful for my faith, family and friends.

Every seven years my son's, whose birthday is Nov. 26 and mine Nov. 27th, fall on Thanksgiving day.

I was 24 the day after he was born.
What a wonderful birthday gift.

Our first child a beautiful healthy boy.

Makes it easy for us to remember.

With all this niceness I can be naughty too.

Love a frozen Margarita to celebrate.

After all my real name is Margaret.

Such JOY to have family and fun to share this week.

Share the JOY with Meri

It is so easy to forget all the blessings that we have when everything is going our way but developing the habit of finding joy in simple things and blessing we have helps us find much peace in our everyday lives.

I admit I do not care for winter.
When I was young and busy I would go about my day working, caring for my family and adjusted to which ever season was upon us.

Now retirement and some minor health issues find me spending my days enjoying my home and hobbies.

Jewelry making, etc.

Tom and I enjoy feeding and watching the birds outside our kitchen window.
Thankful for our warm home.

Looking after their feeding needs gives us a feeling of helping to care for God's gifts of nature.
The red leaves of the Japanese Maple remind us our gift of having each other still, after 53 years.
We planted that tree on our 40 anniversary.
Sharing our JOY with others.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my blogging friends.
