Kathe with an E

Lemon pie with graham cracker crust.

For some reason, which I realize as human nature, since I was diagnosed with Tye 2 diabetes I still crave sweet things, which is have to ration myself.
So I am constantly  on the look out for things to make so that they will fit my diet plan.
I am allowed some sugar occasionally.

Found this
recipe
1 graham cracker crust.

One can frozen lemonade

One can Eagle Brand condensed milk, I was able to find fat tree.

Will look for low fat cool whip next time.

Pour all of these in a mixing bowl and mix until blended well.

Pour into graham cracker crust.

Cover with plastic cover that comes with the pie crust.
Let set about 6 hours and it is delicious.

Almost as good as my mom's Lemon Meringue Pie.

Grand Social-Birthday and anniversaries

Happy Birthday to a beautiful grand daughter
Nikki

This beautiful girl is a wonderful actress and singer.
In this photo she is playing the role of Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady.

She will be 24 today.

She is also a great artist.

We would have loved to see her continue her singing and acting but she choose to start her own business doing Henna Art.

She not only does bodywork for folks she also does shirts, shoes and anything that will take her drawings.

Who would have thought there was a market out there for this.

There are a lot of folks from India in our neck of the woods and the ladies and men wear a lot of body art, especially for weddings.

Happy Anniversary to a beautiful couple.
Our son John and his beautiful wife Wendy.
24 years today.

They have more fun together and with two wonderful children.

Yes, Nikki was born on their wedding day.

Nikki's Mom, our daughter Jennifer, was busy on Friday night helping with the rehearsal dinner and went to the hospital early the next morning missing the wedding.

But we all tracked over to the hospital in our fancy duds to see our precious Shannon Nicole.

The following Monday we were on our way to New York to attend our oldest son's wedding.

They will have an anniversary on August 5th.
24 years for them also.

Grandparents Say it Saturday

Well alleluia, I can finally say it.

Our granddaughter had asked us not to tell anyone about her pregnancy until they were ready to make the announcement.

Our first great grandchild is going to be a
boy.
It is as big an event to us as the birth of the Prince in
England.

Can you believe it

A gender party.

For the last few months family members had been making predictions about the gender of the new baby.

So after the ultrasound was done,
A gender party was held.

All those who predicted a girl wore pink with pink balloons and all who predicted a boy were to wear blue with blue balloons to the party.

The way they announced it.

Jeremy released his blue balloons first.

How creative.

Congrats Cindy and Jeremy.

Guess folks will be hearing a lot about this from us.

Share the JOY Thursday

Many of my JOY shots have been of flowers and nature.
I get a lot of JOY just wandering around my yard and waiting and watching for certain bushes and flowers to bloom and to catch sight of the creatures that like to habitat them.

My white Butterfly Bush has fully bloomed and on
Wednesday got this shot of a
Black swallowtail butterfly.
At least that is what I think it is.
The angle I shot this almost obliterated the colors on the lower wings but what ever species it is
I take such JOY and feel much gratitude that God has blessed us with such beauty right in our own
backyard.

Share the JOY Thursday

Little things mean a lot.

Have 4 herbs growing on my deck.

This is Chocolate Mint, so called because the stems are chocolate brown.

A few springs of lavender, which reminds me of my mom, one of my cobalt blue bottles and a conch shell from Florida.

These are in my kitchen window just over my sink and I get to rejoice in them each day.
Sometimes I say my morning prayers over my sink looking out this window.

JOY
is one of the first feelings of my day.
Which brings on feelings of gratitude to my God for all my blessings.
