Friday Shoot my Town-theme-Vintage

I cannot count the number of antique shops in my town.
This is one of the most favorite vintage things I have seen in any of them.

Day uniforms and Sunday uniforms worn at Nazareth College in the 30s and 40s.
I found them in the Heritage Hall Museum on the Nazareth Campus in my home town.

St. Joseph Infirmary Nursing Program was one of the first and the very best by reputation in the state of Ky.
I so wanted to go there but did not get to out of high school.
My 3 best friends did go.

I wanted to wear this uniform and this cap so bad.
I did go to nursing school later in my life but an aunt that I so admired wore this uniform and cap.
She was my ideal nurse.

I found this in the Nazareth Heritage Hall Museum also.

I also wanted to wear one of the red flannel lined capes too, but by the time I graduated from nursing school, these were purely vintage.
Could not even by one.

 That is okay,
the nurses cap I wore is vintage now too.

I even consider myself vintage now.LOL

Sadness mixed with pride and JOY

It is a very sad day in our town today.
Has been for nearly a week since the ambush and murder of one of our police officers.

The funeral is today.
Our town is inundated with police and sheriff cars from all over the state.

Cruisers from the north arriving for the funeral.

Highways and streets lined with flags.

Large sums of money donated for the reward to find the perpetrators.

The Family

It is a sad day but there is JOY in the pride and the care that the entire community has given to the family and to Jason's department family.

We are all affected.
May he rest in Peace, Amen.

Google + is taking over my blog

Nothing to show that I have made lately except the 2 afghans I made for my 2 grands going into the same college next year.

Color Burgundy and Silver.
They loved it.

Showed it on my post yesterday but had no visitors.
I have been having a hard time dealing with the move of my photos to somewhere else, I know not where.

Spent the entire day yesterday trying to upload or download the photo below and it just would not come up.
Got it today

Love the wild look but it needs trimming and we need rain.

But I forgot about an ATC swap card I did

I prefer a Matte Spray on my finish but only had glossy,do not like the shiny finish.

And some beautiful ones I got from Sara at

So here is my blog from yesterday on today with a link to

Need rain and a rose trimming

With all the graduations and holidays lately have not done much creative work.

Finished two afghans for grads going to college.
Did the afghan in the college colors.
Burgundy and Silver.

The grands absolutely loved them.

A sad, sad day for our community

It is indeed a sad day for our community.
Jason Ellis, a young man serving on our local Police Force as a canine officer was shot and killed at 3 AM on his way home from work.
He was found when someone stopped and called the police from his cruiser.

He had been on the force since 2006.
Thank you Jason and our condolences to your family.
His wife and 2 children survive.

No witnesses, no clues yet.
Evil will not survive they will find his killer.

This is happening all over our county more and more.
I pray for his family and for our nation.

FSO-From the ground up

When I think of from the ground up, literally, I think of something that grows from the ground.

With a little PicMonkey enhancement

Very early spring flowers.
 Spring flowers

Mistletoe in the trees.

Yes this is an old photo and yes I took the shot and yes it demonstrates from the ground up.

Building a human pyramid

The girl upside down on the left is our niece.

Veggies from our garden.

Squirrel on the ground

This little fellow was too fast for me to get a shot on his way from the ground

Up, way up.

A Rose is a Rose is JOY

Share the JOY Thursday.
We wait through winter, rain and chill in Spring and finally that first rose.

HH loves to sit on the patio in the evening,as soon as it is warm enough to stay outside and watch the grass grow.
I tease him that is what he is doing.
In this case he spotted the first rose and brought it inside to me and presented it to me in one of my favorite blue bottles.

A two JOY situation, in this case.
The first rose and HH's gift.
